AmbassadorS

(explanation of what ambassadors are, what they do, ...)

Sophie Dodd

OPEN WATER SWIMMING

As a young girl, I battled depression and anxiety while trying to enhance my performance in the pool. I thought it was a weakness so I never discussed my struggles. Now, I know that my mental illness has made me a stronger person and I believe we need to end the stigma.

Dan Hancock

PERSONAL TRAINER & OWNER OF MINDFIT/WORKFIT

I like to focus on mindset training and improving my clients' mental health as well as their physical well being. I noticed that many of my clients had underlying issues which they were dealing with and that training had a positive effect on their mental state, so took it upon myself to encourage as many people as possible to get involved with physical exercise in order to help use fitness as a form of therapy.

Michael Jamieson

FORMER OLYMPIC SWIMMER

Michael represented his country on a number of occasions across the world. His most notable achievement was his Olympic silver medal that he won in front of a home crowd in London 2012. Since his retirement, Michael has opened up about his struggles with depression and now coaches at Natare West London.

Philip Mitchell

CO-FOUNDER OF THE CHRIS MITCHELL FOUNDATION

Father to former professional footballer Chris Mitchell, Philip is a retired police officer. After his son was forced to retire from football due to injury, Chris began to struggle with depression. This led to him taking his life at the age of 27 in 2016. Since then, Philip and his family set up the foundation to raise awareness and provide Mental Health First Aid training to football clubs.
